The Sig Cross is a great rifle but depending on your use for the rifle something like a Tikka CTR in a chassis might be a better choice.
Basically if your only using it as a bench/prone long range setup that wont get carried a CTR in a chassis will be a heavier and more stable platform.
If you want something that might be carried or a dual purpose setup this is where the cross shines, hence the name it does both OK.
From a accuracy perspective a CTR will most like shoot better. Tikkas are known to be shooters, I've had a few and the factory barrels all shot very well.
The cross's internet credibility for accuracy isn't as solid, seems most shoot ok, a few not so much. I haven't shot my Cross for groups much but it is looking like a 1 MOA with Hornady Match Factory ammo and better with handloads. My CTR would shoot the same factory Hornady ammo 0.5-0.75 MOA.
The Cross has a 2 stage trigger as opposed to Tikka's single stage trigger. Both are user adjustable down to a light pull weight and both are good factory triggers. I prefer the Cross trigger but only because I prefer 2 stage triggers.
Both have a really slick action and good magazine options.
It really just comes down to what you want to use it for and what your preferences are. I had both a Cross and CTR in 6.5CM and decided to keep the Cross because it suited my use better.
I realize you didn't ask for Sig Cross vs Tikka CTR but since you said you were considering the cross and others suggested the CTR and I have recently had both I thought I would share my experience.
