Precision Rifle Setup Ideas...I like dreaming.

I've just finished compiling a list of some prospective and ambitious precision rifle setups, leaving cost out of the equation. I've come up with one that I think is pretty golden and I'm curious on your thoughts or actual experience with the items involved. Also, share your dream setup!

-PGW Coyote in .308
-Leupold Mark 4 ER/T 8.5-25 x 50mm M5 with H58 Reticle
-Harris Series "M" Bipod (6-9 inch)

Thoughts? Suggestions? Improvements? :D
 
Define stuff. I started wanting a target rifle, with what I've got now I could use it for moose/deer. I wouldn't be walking around with it though, too heavy.

Rem 700 Tac AAC-SD $630
Burris Tac rings $86
Falcon scope & 0 min rail $420
Tactical knob & install $70
Accushot mono-pod & Harris bi-pod $220
BlackHawk cheek piece $60
Choate stock (from Mystic) $299
Cortac muzzle brake $200

That's my set up. Nice and tight, easy on the wallet. Shoots great.
If I do end up using it for big game I'll have to develop a load, I don't think match projectiles are designed for taking down moose or deer. Although I'd use the 178 gr A-Max on a gopher or yote any day.
 
so you left cost out of the equation, but went with a mark 4 and harris bi pod?? :(

scope - mk 4 is decent, but look at the night force, schmidt and bender and im sure some others out do the mk 4 by far

bipod - if your goin to run one i am a big fan of the atlas bipods
 
Very hard to beat this IMO! :sniper:
Savage 110 BA in .338 Lapua, with a Bushnell Elite Tactical 4.5-30x 50 scope and Bi-pod. There may be better scopes out there but the gun rocks!

+1 for the Atlas Bipod.

+1 for the Nightforce Glass (If money is really no object then step up to the Schmidt & Bender level of glass, i haven't dared to look though any as i know it will ruin me for all future optic purchases)

I would personally go with .338 caliber and shoot a 300 gr bullet.

Do some snooping around on the "Snipers Hide" and "Longrangehunting" forums, there are some boys out there with deep pockets and long tracks of land that plink at ranges i only dream about.

Thanks for the suggestions monkey. I guess I shouldn't have said that I left cost OUT of the equation, I just moved it down on the list of importance. Otherwise, ya, a Timberwolf would be great (SouthPaw) and a schmidt/bender scope.

As for "shooting stuff" (shakeyjake), I'm mostly interested in target shooting at 500+ yards. The setups I'm considering would be way to heavy for practical hunting purposes anyhow.

More power on your scope, those of us that shoot long range paper competitively have more power or want a lot more power than 25x. The Coyote is very nice. A rear bag helps.
