My vision is not bad at my age. A little near sighted but does not require prescription glasses to drive in BC. This coming year, I might go to school part time, so a pair of glasses is needed.
I would buy prescription shooting glasses which can fit all my needs. But I don't know where to go first. To order it online or from local optic stores?
Anyone has experience to share? Thank you.

I have ESS glasses with prescription inserts. I like it because my optometrist filled the prescription using the inserts, and if the safety glasses get scratched they're comparatively cheap to replace. I also have the goggles that the same insert fits into, great if you're into ATVs.

My prescription is a weird one, progressive lenses with prisms to adjust vision left/right and up/down. The glasses I wear for day-day cost just shy of $1000, that's why I need to go the insert route. Much cheaper than buying multiple pairs.

I use Wiley-X Brick glasses with prescription frames. One pair for work, one pair with transition lenses for outdoors, and one backup pair for the range. That's how you know someone like their glasses, when they buy duplicate pairs.

They have great coverage, no more of those giant gaps at your temples and cheekbones. I really like that for biking, helps to cut down on the wind buffeting. Plus it gives some extra peace of mind when at the range, knowing you have a few mm of extra protection.

They're not hideous either, I wear them around town and I just look like a hipster.

I got them from CJ Smith at Pro Optical here in Edmonton, he's a good guy.
