I load for quite a few different 38Spl/357 pistols and revolvers. I really want to have a "one load suits all" load.
The most fussy gun is the S&W52. It requires a wadcutter bullets seated flush.
As it happens, the best load in it so far has been 3.8gr WW231 under a 148gr double-ended wadcutter. This is a very snappy load. According to one book, the max is 4.2 gr, so I should be ok.
Most books show a lower charge, but that may because they are limiting for accuracy, not for pressure.
Does anyone have software for calcualting what kind of pressure this load generates? The bullet is seated flush with the case mouth, so there is not much empty space in the case.
Bullet is 0.580" Case is 1.150"
