Merry Christmas to All!!!
Rolled into town, 3 weeks of freedom of the yoke of having to make a living.... Besides a little sugar from the BH, another nice suprise was that my long back ordered CZ 527 had arrived ( the pretty part ) and a few more days for my much maligned Mossy 464 SPX to show...

Decided that since I go from a .22 for grouse & rabbits to a '06 as my light hunting rifle that maybe a better choice could be made for 'yotes and general goofing around. Saying a silent prayer that this 527 shoots as accurate as my .22 CZ 455.... Made old school, no stupid idiot warnings stamped everywhere, even the chick on the packaging box ain't worrying about safety glasses and ear plugs ...

Quite nicely made, checkering is very well done, crf mini mauser bolt, set trigger ( damn light, thank goodness adjustabe), no plastic anywhere, feed ramp etc highly polished, I personally like the hog backed stocks from Europe but I know that gets a raised eyebrow by the majority....

The minusses - doesn't come with rings like my Rugers & the back irons block out too much light and view, especially in lower light.... Ordering some rings from Warne and gonna have a couple brewski's deciding on optics that don't overwhelm the trim lines of the rifle.

Very nice. There are a lot of good optics that would be a nice ergo fit for the rifle. If one was to avoid going with a 50mm objective it would be nice and slim. Good bases and rings, good scope with a nice low end magnification and about 12X on the top end. If its for calling coyotes, most shots are 20 ft to 80 yards, at the range to the usual effective predator range of 300yards for 223....12X saves setting up a spotting scope.

They have a old world charm, including actually usable irons, so long as one doesnt turn that front hood sideways in the wind. Maybe a see thru or flip down mount.....for those really close shots. If you reload that rifle would be a tack driver. Avoid cheap, bulk, FMJ surplus is a obvious.

Range report???

Get CZ rings. They have the notch in them that doesn't allow the scope to move when mounted. It doesn't come with rings as it's supposed to be used with iron sights. I"m not fond of that stock with a scope. Get a Zeiss scope. Even a Terra 3 model.
