Yeah, so I find whenever I charge the clip into my SKS, the 6th round will come loose from the clip, since obviously the mag is pinned to 5.
Is there an efficient way of preventing this, so that I don't have to be careful and slow whenever I load a new clip?

And if you've got any other tips for SKSs and clips that would be great.

Cut the stripper clip to hold at least 6 rounds so you have something to hold onto and use side cutters to crimp the stripper clip to hold just 5 rounds. I wrapped some yellow tape around the end to make them easier to find on the ground. My Garand ammo belt works great as it will hold 2 clips per pouch.

Only thing is if I cut it for 6, I can't use the other half.

I leave the clips at ten and put a piece of tape around one end, to be the "up" end and I load 5 rounds on the clip. They work fairly well.

The bolt carrier has a slot in it to take the clip. I ran a medium file into it and made the slot a bit bigger, so the clip goes in easier. Without the mod, the clip has to be oriented perfectly vertical.

BTW, if you are going to use these in a match where time matters, test each clip first. This is a pain, but I have found that for some reason, some clips just don't want to strip out the rounds. This is why I now have a piece of tape on the end of the 10 round clip. It forces me to strip the rounds out in the direction I have tested.

I used coloured shrink tube to cover the ends of mine. Won’t cut them cuz I’m silly enough to think me might be able to use ten rounds one day. I’ve found Czech clips to strip the best.
