Is it marked 244 Remington or 6mm Remington? Be aware that if it is marked 244 Remington, it is likely a 1-12" twist, which will possibly not stabilize any spitzer bullet over 90 grains well. The price is good, in any case, but the scope is worth little. Regards, Eagleye.

buy it or tell me where it is and I'll buy it sight-unseen...:D

I had one of the early ones with a 12" twist 26" sporter barrel. It would literally vaporize gophers with a 70 gr Hornady SXSP at 3500.....

hahaha, its in my den! But I haven't paid for it yet. I'm going to shoot it first.
Oh, and it is a 26" barrel, but not sure if it is 12" twist, is there any way to tell?

:D :)

I'll tell you a secret but most guys won't believe it anyway. The one I had would shoot 100 gr Hornady's in an inch for three shots all day long. The twist thing is an old wive's tale that gets trotted out every once in a while.

I've read where guys have had good luck with the heavier bullets and also guys that didn't. If you want to shoot lighter bullets it's not even an issue. At the price you could flip it very easily. Strike while the iron's hot!!!

yea...flip it to me...;) :) :D

Rembo; You may have had a 12 twist 244 that shot the 100 spitzers fine, a few did. You will notice I said "Possibly" But it's NOT an old wives tale. I have personally seen at least a half dozen of these that would not group any 100 spitzer into less than 8" with occasional keyholes. As soon as you dropped down to the 90 grain pill or used the 100 Hornady RN, they grouped just fine. But one could try it to see, since some would shoot OK with the 100's. I'm a bit of a 244/6mm Remington "slut" and have played with them a lot. regards EE.

well, I bought it without shooting, based on the reaction I got here. However, If I'm not impressed, you are all accountable. (just kidding). Do you think anyone would trade a .270 for this rifle??
