In the display case at the Saskatoon West Canadian Tire this afternoon.

M48 - $565.99
SKS - $229.99
91/30 - $286.88 ( Hex receiver)

Sorry, no decent pics - the case is in the middle of an island that is chained off. From 10 feet away - the M48 looked OK, the laminate SKS is covered in BBQ black and the 91/30 is in pale coloured PW stock with plenty of flea bites.

Get 'em while they're hot!:d

It may seem 'strange' to get a good surplus gun from a place like Canadian Tire. But I have seen someone get two collector grade SKS's from Moose Jaw, for under $500. Wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it. They aren't too worried about what the market suggests the grade should be worth.
Nice post.

Nice post.

The MJ CDN Tire had an incredible selection of 91/30s a little over a year and a half ago for $189.00 each (sale price of $163.99) They were generous enough to let me sort through their inventory and I picked out a few 'treasures' including a '36 Izzy hex receiver in a pre war stock and few original stocked and patched ex-snipers including an ex-PEM scope mount. On a later trip I found a modified '49 SKS and a first generation '50 model, both in wood stocks for $189 each. Last time I was there however, they were down to a handful (mostly BBQ painted laminate stock) and were not expecting to get anymore.

I was recently in Humboldt and North Battleford. The CDN Tire in Humboldt has a few RC K98s with their eagles intact for around $780 and the NB store has 2 PU scoped '44 Izzy 91/30s for $769.99. I've already got examples of each, so I left them for the next fellow..

Ok I work at that ct don't buy that sks main spring is rusted and chipped is some spots and the gas piston return spring is the same way. Iv actually told people to walk away from this rifle.
I'm a salesman but a honest one. I'll probably get #### at work doing saying that to. Oh well

Again I wish the CT near me in keswick sold rifles and milsurps. Instead it's some hunting gear only. I have to drive about an hour away to get to a CT that sells guns. Even the ammo is hidden in most of the stores. Why even sell it if it's not a supported product.

I got a nice Springfield made M1 Garand at Canadian tire for $299....... in 1993. Yup those surplus guns sold today will seem cheap in a few years.

I saw a nice blued 52 sks in Brandon, MB ct Sunday for 229.99 in the show case, I left it for the next guy(highly recommend someone go grab this) and took the BBQ'd 1950 because I already had a 52.
I was at CT on Leila in Winnipeg last week as well they have a bunch of Painted sks's for 249.99 a few hex mosins for 299.99 as well as a couple regular mosins for 199.99 I also noticed 2 "kp31"s for 699.99 each. Drum mags where 169.99 each. There was 2 or 3 mosin snipers there for 699.99 as well. That's all I remember, but the selection of surplus was still pretty good.

Wasn't that around the time they got out of selling guns. I remnber seeing them at ct as a kid but locally they only started selling again like 3-4 years ago.
