Im in NZ and I'd pay good money for a 1900 as good as that, stock looks fine, action looks even better, and despite what the barrel looks like I bet it can shoot. The action is one of the slickest and strongest actions available. If you want to rebarrel or change it for something a bit more than a 308, you could try a 280AI to match 7mm Mag ballistics, or one of the new 30 cal chambering such as 300 Norma. Neither would require any bolt or mag changes. Or simply rebarrel to 30.06, perfectly capable to take most animals.
