Price check/info check Winchester Model 88 .308

Buddy is looking at a Win 88 in .308.

Mid '70's vintage. Has two mags, plastic case, Open sights (look like factory).
Supposed to have been bought new, shot half box of ammo, and stored pretty much since.

Not pristine, but not been dragged behind a truck onna rope, either.

About the worst I can say about it is that the filler screws for the scope mount holes, are missing.

Going rate these days?

I searched through the EE, found one for $500 ask. Saw a couple mags for sale around $100 each, and a couple more guys looking for mags, so there is value in the spare.

Seller is supposed to have a same vintage Leupold scope that goes with. Waiting to see if that materializes.

But in the meantime, trying to sort out what it should be worth.

As well, any historical issues with these to watch for?

The scope would add flavor to the deal.

Yeah on the pre-64 . This was bought new in mid-70's, so it's not that.

I want to see the barrel after it gets scrubbed out and see what that looks like, but I was figuring around that range.

Have not seen the scope. Supposedly new, never been mounted, but who knows. Been a few years floating around in storage, so it could be about anything. If it shows up, then it becomes part of the equation, not until.

Yeah....agreed....around here $350 for an 88, you'd be givin' it away

If she is in good shape with all the extra toys as mentioned. Ole gtrussell is in the ball park at $500. At that price your not stealing it and or paying a small fortune for it. Fair to all concerned.

If your looking to flip it on the EE then you want to pay $350 for everything. Then list the 88 for 500 and the spare clip for 100 and the scope for at least another 100.
