A friend of mine has a Luger that has the receiving part for a shoulder stock, and he is wondering how hard these shoulder stocks are to find (he wants to get one), and what kind of price tag they generally go for these days?

Are all shoulder attachments the same? Or do they differ by Luger model year/manufacturer?

Thanks for the feedback, and i'll relay the message his way.

I'm not up on this subject but I know some of the "shoulder" stocks were also the holster. I believe that the artillary models had / came with that sort of stock. FWIW --- John303.

I'm no expert on the these pieces but I believe only the P08 army, artillery and the earlier pre-war models had the shoulder stocks. The post WW1 and Third Reich made Lugers were not issued them as far as I understand and had the familiar Luger leather holster only with take down tool.

From what I have seen, the Luger shoulder stocks were thinner than the C96 shoulder stock and connected the same way though you would not be able to store the Luger in the wood stock. The holster would generally have a side strap (i.e the artillery model 1914) that the shoulder stock can slide into for carrying.

I have not seen very many originals as many appear to have been lost during the Great war or through the passage of time. The only originals I have seen are for the Artillery model of 1914. You can imagine the price for an original will break almost anyone's milsurp budget (mine atleast). I think E-bay has some sellers posting reproductions.

Keep your eyes open though as you may find one in the most random spot for sale.

If you wanted an idea of a price range for a complete period set for the Artillery model of 1914, here is a reference point: Ebay listing Arty 1914.
