Price check on a Gewehr 98

Hi guys,

What is the going rate for Gew98's up here, both matched and mismatched? I know what they are going for in the States but they seem a lot more common down there (though I realize import is an option for $300+). I don't think I have ever seen one on the EE. Thanks!

....$300-$500 for OK samples...lots more for a minty all matcher....lots LOTS more if some old guy is selling it at a gun show

If you get it from an old guy at a gun show make sure he writes you a letter certifying the provenance of being "sold by an old guy at a gun show"

That way it will hold its value.

Thanks Klunk, I figured they would be around there price-wise. Geez, you ain't kidding with the 'old guy at the gun show' prices. I usually just go to the gun shows now for the generous selection of doily's present at the Edmonton shows. Score!!

Is it a prerequisite for old guy's at gun shows to sell there stuff for ex amount of dollars, i thought they were only like that at the shows i attend.
