I am not sure if this falls under Milsurp or pistol forum but here goes. I have a 1943 AC Walter P38 that I am considering to put up for sale.
It's all matching (Except the mag which does have waffen stamps) in original condition. I am wondering what would be a fair market price?

Here is a pic.

So locking block, slide, frame and barrel all match? Any grips or cracks in the grips?
Bore ok?

I'd expect around $600 is its just the gun and one wartime magazine. Maybe a little more but it's nothing crazy.

Yup all matching unrefurbed. no cracks in the grips, original finish, with all waffen markings intact. Are you sure $600? I have seen worse ones on EE for $900

I'd tend to agree with CanadianAR's assessment. These aren't very rare in Canada so they don't command big bucks. I sold a very similar rig in the last few months for $850. Internally my break down was $600 for the pistol, $100 for the spare mag and $150 for the soft shell holster.

The EE is not what it used to be, have a good look as lots of guns there are more then the new cost of a firearm. I just bought the same pistol (ac43) in similar condition for 650 shipped with two wartime mags. If you want to sell 600 if you want to sit on it ask more.

OP, IMHO that pistol is worth a lot more than the recent post war manufactured imports with aluminum frames. The same goes for the French made Hi Powers which were post war as well. For some reason they are still selling for less. Not sure why??? I agree with the prices given above unless you have something special which you don't. Even the RCs are going for $600.

IMHO these war time collectibles should be in the $750 range. I think that is going to change over the next four or five years though and people that don't have them will be kicking themselves for not getting them while the prices were good.

Nice piece....$600-$700 to a new collector...most of us who have been collecting for a while got the more common 43/44 production covered.....$900 would only be reserved for something special or early imho.

I bought one for $535 shipped like 4 years ago. And I remember being told that they are undervalued etc etc and they will go up.
But they have barely moved. The one for $535 isn't as nice as yours either. Not sure why they don't command a lot. There were so many brought back to canada. And not enough guys willing to collect a lot of handguns.
