Hey everyone

I'm thinking about selling my mosin nagant it seems like a rare marked mosin nagant.

I'm just looking for a ball park figure.

Here are some of the pics and info about it in this thread:

Thanks for any help!

Im not sure how much extra money the fire extinguishing police mark adds to the value, but I would say the main selling point is the fact that the rifle is a 1922 Tula infantry rifle as opposed to (ex)dragoon. By this time dragoon rifles were more commonplace then the infantry counterparts. It has a Finn stock and has been reblued at some point in time, most likely by the Finns themseleves.

very nice!

Finn captured more rare.
I would price it anywhre from 300-400 dollars.

Finn capture M1891s are more common then non-Finn marked 1891's. Opposite for the 91/30s. Even the Finn capture 91/30's arent exactly rare. Just less common then the 70's Ukrainian refurbs.

You might want to PM Skirsons. He posted about a Latvian Fire Police marked Mosin Nagant a while back. He might know more about its value but I think ArtyMan and Westrifle are correct.

The Latvian mark was discussed in Milsurps - search the forum for more info.

This is a Nazi German captured 1891... although there are no fancy swastikas on it, this is what it is. I have never seen a National Socialist era marked 1891.

I would think that would affect value in the upward direction. I would estimate it to be in the $350-400 range but I'm sure someone out there would pay more due to its rarity.

It was issued to the Fire Extinguishing Police in Mitau, Latvia during the German occupation of that country 1941-1945. How it got from the Finns to the Germans is anyone's guess!

I would caveat that with "IN CANADA". In total, Finn rifles are far rarer.

I am guessing it was like nowadays "free aid" to local forces.
Redirection of a products without using German resources.
I ve seen this topic somewhere but I am not sure where
