I have one I'd like to put up for sale. All original round hand guard, carry handle, bayonet lug etc. Just wondering if someone more knowledgeable about these could give an approx valuation range. It is in VG condition.
Depends on what the sporter ii model it is there are 4 different types with the first two being some of the most collectible green label rifles. The 84/85 guns with sp1 or a1 uppers. The 87 models were made along side the colt Canadian c7 contract so they used those uppers with slab side lowers by 88 the last year they made the sporter iis they were full a2 uppers. The earlier ones I'd say $1500 with the newer ones $1100-1200 respectively. Cool collector pieces. I have a 85 made one with a1 upper .. I ended up buying conversion bushings and put an a2 lower and a2 upper making the rest of the parts a true a2 clone while using an offset screw to put the a1 slab lower on and all orginal m16a1 upper. If I ever sell it I'll just put the sporter ii back to its original condition with original parts. I love me some colt rifles lol
