I have an Italian Vetterli, that has been converted to fire the 6.5 Italian round. I beleive the correct designation may be 1880/87/15? Help me out?

It is in good condition, no cracks in the wood and the bore is in good shape. Seems to be mechanically sound. I am thinking of selling this and would like to know a fair selling price.

Thanks

I've had two or three go through my hands in the $150 range.

Seems there are three strikes against it:

- it's Italian (I'm just the messenger);
- is chambered in 6.5 Carcano which is odd-ball (brass a bit hard to find, bullets are unique, and requires a clip); and finally
- is considered unsafe to shoot (Vetterli action rechambered to 6.5 Carcano).

I've shot mine and it's fun - just keep the pressure to about 20K. 130gr cast bullet at 1500 fps in that big, heavy gun was like shooting a 22.

Not a sought after collectable. Depending on condition your looking at $75 to $150. Pictures wouldn't even make it worth more.
