I was a a local smith's today and saw he had a 1911 for sale.

The gun is a Caspian frame (what model I don't know).
The frame is stainless steel with a weird finger groove below the trigger.

The slide is a stainless Colt MK IV.
Gun is in good condition.
He is asking $800 for it.

Is this way overpriced? (sorry I don't have many more details as this is all I was able to gather)

EDIT: I forgot to add, the smith said that the pistol had been at his place for over a year and no one was interested in even looking at it. He said however that there was nothing physically wrong with the pistol.

For a mix-matched gun in "Good" condition, $800 is too much. Elwood Epps has an all-original MK IV Series 80 in excellent condition listed for $800 (it's a .38 Super though). A brand new Series 80 can be had for a grand.

Thanks guys, I knew there had to be a reason why it didn't sell in a year. I am not familiar with any Caspian products so I was really not sure, it was a very nice looking pistol though.
