I have a friend who has a stockpile of 300 Win Mag brass, it is all WW Super brass, once fired. I am not sure the condition but lets assume tumbled and clean.

Any thoughts on how much for a bag of 50 he should be asking? Not sure if we will post them for sale here or find something locally but since it is over $1 each plus tax new would $0.75 each or $0.50 each be reasonable to ask for once fired? Is that too much?

Thanks

Unless its hard to get brass or "unique" like Lake City, half of what they would cost new. YMMV

I personally don't believe in this "but, but, but you are saving the tax" business

I agree with you there, was thinking 50 cents to 75 cents would be reasonable. He has 300, so maybe a bag of 50 for $35 or you can buy it all for $150, type of deal.

Local club sells brass for 10 cents each to members. Just picked up a bag of 150 mixed at local gun show for $10.

full length size it and tumble in stainless steel pins, sell it as new without the taxes and shipping.........

40 cents a piece sounds about right, as is, sizing it or cleaning it is not going to add to the value unless it is really tarnished gravel pit pickings

This is strictly my opinion but I prefer to buy fired brass unpolished and unsized. That way I can get a bit of a better picture of its original state and more importantly to me, I can size the brass to fit my rifle(s) without worrying about it being over or undersized.

I don't know the state yet, I have not seen the stash yet, he just asked me if I knew anyone reloading it and I said I would ask here about value.

He would not be sending it to anyone to reload if he did not believe it was safe. I am iffy about tumbled brass too, I got some that looked like they had been in a fire, to the scrap pile they go.
