Price increases

On top of the unprecedented run on guns and ammunition in North America we had a weak dollar working against importers recently. This shouldn't be a surprise.

No you're not the only one, in fact there are now weekly threads about price increases. More are coming (threads and increases that is)

I'd argue that one person's "unreasonable" would be another person's "supply and demand". I would never pay $2,660 for 1 oz of shiny metal dug up out of the ground, but as of 6pm today that's the market price for gold.

Then again, I also wouldn't pay $1,000+ for a scope for any of my rifles, no matter how awesome the view is. I don't think anyone on here could convince ME to buy a scope for more than $200. Even $150 is pushing it for the kind of shooting I do. But hey, willing buyer willing seller. If you want to spend the money on an ounce of gold, a Leopold scope, or a "black rifle", more power to you.

My $0.02 worth, and it's not even worth that! :)

Selection of NRs is low, supply is low and unsteady, and with everything going on demand is high. Especially since the backdoor registry of c71 could be instituted at any time.
If you want something now, be prepared to pay for it.

Did you just get back from the moon?

We're in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic and economic depression. Our dollar is in the tank. Unrest in the US has EVERYONE buying guns and ammo. Trudy banned the most common ones in Canada so what's left is in limited supply.

Welcome to Canadian socialist economy. Economy based no on production but on speculation, resale, dealers etc.

Considering prior to the ban most of the interesting NR Black Rifles were priced north of $2,000 I don't think the FX-9 is unreasonably priced. Albeit it is a PCC which are typically cheaper than 5.56/.308 options.

FX-9, Ruger PCC, JR Carbine, WK-180C, WS-MCR, T97, M10x, SU-16F are all black rifles costing less than 2k that are still available.

Canadian dollar is back to pre covid19 level.. so the weak Canadian dollar statement doesn’t work anymore...

You just described capitalism. Socialist don’t believe in the economy or think that “it will balance itself”
