Price of .45 acp brass?

What is the going rate in Canada for 1000 once fired .45 acp brass?

I think it seems to be about .08 a piece these days. So like somewhere around $80? At least that what I have seen guys in the EE asking for it lately. Price can vary widely though, I suppose it matters if it is all one brand, already tumbled or decapped, etc.....

I could be way off as I've never bought any. To me, it is wrong paying for something I can pick off the ground for free.;) I do feel for those guys that don't have people at their range that leave it behind...

Last load I paid $60 per K , Headstamp escapes me, Haven't looked at 'em or loaded any yet.
The whole batch is small primer pocket

Speaking of 45 ACP. A bunch of guys around my club shoot the Winclean stuff and don't keep the brass supposedly due to the small primer pocket. Why wouldn't you reuse it? (I ask since I don't own a .45)

If they have a progressive press with different primer feed sizes it might not be worth it to them to switch back and forth between the large pocket and small? Thats about the only reason I could think of.

There are guys here, like Shugrnutz, that reload the Wincleen small pocket stuff exclusively. Can't be anything wrong with the brass itself.

Start stockpiling the stuff they leave behind. Hell, someone would probably trade you for a caliber you do shoot. And remember, just because you don't have a .45 now, doesn't mean you never will.:D Barring that send it all my way, i'll pay shipping and handling.;)

The WinClean brass is very reloadable. Fortunately for me, I still use a turret press and batch load my ammo. The smaller primers cost a little less than the larger pistol primers too.
