With the prices going up and up, where will it end?

What's the most expensive powder prices you've seen lately?

No need to mention which store you seen it at :)

Seen Reloader 16 listed at 84.00/lb....highest I've seen so far! :(

you have to look at the budget.

This is how Trudeau is balancing the budget. For the budget to balance itself, the cost of goods have to increase sufficiently high to cover the spending.

so you look at the cost of good when Harper was in office and the budget and compare that to the current budget and you can figure out how high Trudeau wants to raise the price of goods to balance the budget.

The most I paid was $71.00 per pound, it was Alliant #26. I purchased 3 pounds knowing that prices go up, as usual.ovrec

It is called the law of supply and demand. There is shortage of components so prices are up. Some people are ready to pay almost any price for what they need.
Two years ago, I had all my IMR powders at the local gun store for less than $38 a Lb. Now it is rather in the $65 and very hard to find.

Most I have ever paid for a pound of powder is $59, two weeks ago for RL-26... I bought ten pounds last week, Ramshot Hunter and Magnum @ $53.50/pound and W748 @ $55.36/pound. I have enough now to ride out the silly spike we are currently experiencing... of course prices are going up, but there will be some market correction, supply and demand still rule.

are you sure you have enough?
I expect this non-sense to last another 5 to 10 years at a minimum, unless the anti-vax/mask/restriction groups picks up steam and turns violent and overthrows the establishment.

10 yrs is longer than I want to see this craziness, although 10lbs of WST at 2.2- 4.4 grains a shot should just about do it. Primers are another thing!

just looked on the website, the powder will be worth more than the guns, fortunately I stocked up good at the start of covid but primers are going to be a issue, getting low

I remember a couple of years ago when Wholesale Sports was closing there doors they had powder for 30.00 a pound and primers were 40.00 per 1000. As time went on and they were getting close to the close out date the prices started to drop to try and move the inventory. I had to go to Grande Prairie in Alberta and stopped into see what they had left on the shelf. I guess there are not many reloaders up there because I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Varget, Unique and 2400 powder with lots of primers still on the shelf and discounted 50% off. I told the kid behind the counter you better get a couple of big boxes because I would like to buy all of this, pointing to the shelf. Turns out I had to go a get a grocery buggy from the front door to haul it all. I am good for a while yet.

Current auction that I watched had old and I mean old H322 powder. I do not what the final price was per lot. Some were 3 lb lots and there were a few 5lb lots. Issue is, is it any good still bidding on a online estate sale????

Primers were going average over 100.00 per thousand. Those were old federal and remington as well. Are they any good? Likely for the gopher patch. I would not want to bet my life on it for a match load. Lapua 220 Russian brass went for almost as much as what you can buy it today. Only thing saved is tax. Amazing what guys will pay to shoot.

Primers will be totally fine if kept dry.
I'm shooting reloads with vintage Winchester Western Staynless primers and no problems at all.

Hell I am using bags of reclaimed primers, SP, SPM, LP, LPM, SR, SRM, LR and LRM. Pretty much the entire gamut. The storage method kind of scares me but they were free. At least a decade old, some with light strikes and plenty of lead free in the mix. Almost all work fine, only 6 duds out of 2500 so far. I even get them wet with a mist bottle before handling. Primers are apparently incredibly hard to ruin.
