Price of k98

deagle2008 hit it on the head. It's really impossible to come up with an accurate price without seeing the rifle. Close ups of the serials, stock markings, sling and bolt cutouts, etc. are absolutely needed to verify whether the rifle is indeed all original and untouched with matching numbers (minus the parts you listed). There are far too many humped rifles or rifles misrepresented as originals, when they are in fact refurbed/force matched, to just go off someones description.

Ball park? 5-1800.

The only partly mismatched K98 that you can generally assume hasn't been dicked with is a bolt mismatch but otherwise matching. As mentioned pics are really required. It was made at Mauser Oberndorf in 1940 so just about every part will have markings of some sort. Without seeing it if stock, bands, barreled action and bolt match it should be worth $1000 here, I see a lot of RC's going for $600 with peened swastikas and completely mismatched and Russified. Unless it is a post war Czech or East German refurb then not that high. My 2 cents.

I respectfully disagree. 1k is getting into collectors pricing and as a collector, it's either matching or it's not is law in regards to value. The rifle if nice maybe a small premium over a RC.

The nice one at marstar sold before Xmas and it was one of the cheaper ones. Whomever is pricing those rifles doesn't know a collectable mauser from his sisters tity.

To me a rifle that has matching action, bolt, stock except for bands and has intact German markings is worth $400-$500 more than an RC completely mismatched with peened swastikas. Just my opinion.

Very hard to tell for sure from the pics and descriptions just how good of deals these were but I can definitely see some serious issues with some of them so I would be very wary of buying without more pics and details. It does look like someone potentially got a super deal on the one though.
