Price of linotype?

What is a good price on a 25 pound bar.

These days, $100 or less IMO.

From a supplier I talked to...base lead is being sold at $ 1.89. Lead alloys go up from there.

One quote was for $2.95/lb

It is hard to say.
25lbs of linotype has;
- 21lbs of lead (x $1.25/lb) equals $26.25 or so
- 1lb of tin (x $22/lb) equals $22 or so
- 3lbs of antimony (x $17/lb) equals $51 or so
Adding it all up would be quite close to $100 Can for 25Lbs of linotype ($4/lb) but the bargains are out there no doubt.
Just recently I sold 200+lbs of linotype from my stash for $2.50/lb.
If I needed some linotype to buy, anything over $3/lb I wouldn't consider it a bargain.
