Prices for U.S ammo?

THIS IS NOT A HOW TO IMPORT QUESTION!! AND I DONT NEED TO KNOW THE LEGALITIES...

I have been looking at bringing a large quantity of trap/bird shot back from the states because everyone says how cheap it is down there.
Up here I can get 250 12 guage rounds for about 67 bucks at any Walmart or Lebaron., down there I have priced out 100 rounds for 23 bucks at walmart. And with the exchange it would probably actually be cheaper up here?
Not that much of a savings if any, is there a cheap place to buy down there to make it worth it? I have buddies in Buffolo, so Id like to buy from that area, or have it shipped to his address.
 
"...Buffalo..." Got stranded there for 5 days with a broken truck, some time back. They roll the sidewalks up at 5:30 during the week. The whole place closes at noon on Saturday. Horrible place to spend your summer vacation. Especially with little cash. The only bright part was the public library. They gave me a temporary card for a buck. Gave me internet access or I'd still be there.
You can't bring ammo out of the States without their export permit anyway. However, Cabela's wants $74.99US($95.40Cdn) per 250 for Estate brand target ammo. I don't know who they are either. Winchester Super-Target runs $69.99US per 250. $69.99US converts to $89.04Cdn. You won't get USD for that though. Our banks get to fornicate you on the exchange rate. Shipping costs will increase the cost too.
Have one of your buddy's price 250 rounds at The Buffalo Gun Centre(good place to visit when you're down there. They'll look after the paperwork for a firearm purchase too.). It won't make much difference given the exchange rate and the export permit though.
 
I hear very little good new in regards to ammunition prices and availability in the US these days. Prices are going up and demand is keeping supply's down. I do not know if shotgun shot is in the same boat, although i don't imagine it is good.

Interesting quickie, a acquaintance of mine from the Kansas City area was in a pawn shop looking for deals. He found .308 surplus in a 50 round tin going for 125.00. It has gone beyond hoarding in some areas, people sitting on tens of thousands of rounds.

I'm not certain, but I think I see some reloading equipment entering my life.

My cousin's that live in whannak, washington had a heart failure when the visted us a few weeks ago when I told them the prices for shot shells. I told them it was $75 a flat of trap loads with taxes in. They told me that @ there local store it was a little over $25.
