Well, sold a few things and built up the toy fund so I can pull the trigger on an M4, literally. Unfortunately I missed the boat on a good sale from Al Flaherty's here on the site ($1899). Sale's over, I'm out of luck. Don't want to sound cheap, but every little bit I can save I can then feed through it or buy accessories, lol.

Any sales out there or coming up that anyone knows about? Lord knows I'm not adverse to dealing in the EE , but am thinking I'd like this one new for a change.

I also bought mine new, despite EE guns for a couple hundred less. For the resale value they command, I'll just go new, bought one off the shelf at my favourite shop for $2169, convinced myself immediate availability and no shipping made it worthwhile. Just cleaned mine for the first time after 200+ shells- didn't even need to, it was still spotless inside. Pretty impressive. Make sure you get a proper M4 with collapsing butt, the stock alone is worth $400 or so, you can get a fixed pistol grip stock aftermarket for $120. It's a great stock and part of the whole reason I'm so fond of the M4, buying one without it is really short changing yourself. The Americans go to extreme lengths to get these stocks on their guns.

The M4 is worth every penny, I paid $2200.00 for mine, no regrets the best shot gun on the market, as the old saying goes you get what you pay for,

Some shops will cut you a cash deal and knock $100 bucks off. Don't be afraid to ask. Mine did.

And do get the collapsible stock. It's really a great feature and I'm so happy I did.

Oh yeah, collapsible stock all the way. Can't see myself spending this kind of coin and NOT getting it. I did contact Al's and he told me the sale was over, back to $2050. All in all, still not a bad price from what I've seen, just have to calculate in shipping and tax and see if it's much better than buying locally at that price point, where as the $1899 would have been a no-brainer and the transfer would have already been made. I do buy and sell quite a bit in the EE, not shy about it in the least. However, THIS particular girl I want to be unmolested when I get around to taking her to the prom. Good point about the cash deal, never think about that usually. I'm not big on trying to bargain with a retail store, large or small, especially the small ones are only trying to make a living. However, if they've built the potential for credit card service fees into their profit margin, then I guess it does make sense they may take a bit less for cash.

Oh well, I'm not in a huge panic…yet. The money is there, just need to find the right deal. Hopefully a sale will fall into my lap before I get overly anxious and go all crazy-like, paying full retail, lol.
