Used gun prices have been up for the past few years but I’m sensing a pause. I’m seeing lots of cheap used guns being pulled in from outside the country via intersurplus etc. The other big online used gun sellers appear not to be turning over as many either. GP has seen used gun for sale numbers go from 6000 to 8700 since the beginning of the year. I don’t have a crystal ball but I see prices getting cheap real quick to move this glut of firearms for sale. Of course not every gun is created equal, but what do you think?

Im seeing a lot of ads at both places getting cycled regularity at their same initial asking price.
My personal opinion (and just that) is that market has stalled as it’s hunting season and everyone has their setups already. And.. folk are just not spending the cash on over inflated asking prices from the past two years.
More than likely we’ve seen the peak of the cycle in terms of high pricing and we’re seeing the start of the downward trend now. Production is slowly starting to catch up, so that will help drive prices back to sane and manageable levels for most.. hopefully

I haven't seen any reduction in gun prices . A large local gun dealer told me recently that they are having extreme difficulty in getting new guns ; and next to nothing is being traded in . Plus a local Pawn Shop which had tons of guns coming in three years ago , now have nothing gun related being pawned or sold . Even gun post prices seem to be sky high right now .
Money is drying up - not much disposable income. Flood the market with unwanted firearms.
Limited market - with only so much firearms on the market, what else is there to buy once you have it all? Items will sit longer unless its a deal.
Old age - speaking with older folks, the time has come to get rid of stuff - they will keep a few, kids don't want anything or no one to give it to. Flood the market with unwanted firearms.
Stupidity - when you open your safe and see 20 pump action shotguns and 20 bolt action rifles, it's plain stupid. Saying it's a hobby, my right, my lifestyle, it is denialism. See point 1 about money drying up, hence the flood of firearms on #######.

A lot of the stuff I see is over valued and the fact that it gets reposted or bumped often is a good indicator that others feel the same. If I see an ad that has been sitting on GP for a month or more I'll lowball and see what happens.
There are also a few good deals, especially in higher end guns where the costs are high to begin with. But at the low end, people are trying to extract the most margin they can and most folks just aren't interested in "saving the tax" or "shipped free" or whatever. Money is tight for folks and cheap junk is cheap junk.
Another one is just plain laziness, it's great you have a nice push feed Model 70 for sale but pull the sh!tty Bushnell off of it and deal with that separate. Add-ons don't add value, if you bring a car to the dealership with accessories you like doesn't mean anyone else values the same. You will get market value or less for it so you might as well strip it down and piece it out.

People are more concerned about the sticker shock when they need to renew their mortgages so they are selling what they can to muster up some funds. It's no longer for a rainy day but more like the flood of moses.

More and more ads stipulate no shipping, no offers, most won't sell without the scope of there is one, some are charging pirate prices for shipping, some are tacking on a handling charge for packing Ang going to post office.
Buying and selling is not as fun as it once was.
It's how I got to try out so many cool guns.

I think there are a few things going.
Some people are nervous about the new gun legislation so are waiting to see what happens there.
Money is tight, no money to spend on toys
People are saving their money in case of an emergency as no one knows what’s coming around the corner
Basically it comes down to priorities

Read on the internet that with our devalued dollar we are now paying around $123.00 for a barrel of oil
Getting some things from the States is almost prohibitive as you have to deal with the exchange rate,crazy shipping prices plus duty and taxes if applicable .A guy has to want something real bad to import some things today.I look at some my guns like my Shiloh Sharps rifle which I imported from Shiloh ,I could not afford to do that today as I d be around the $5 grand a piece mark.Hell there are guys here in Canada asking close to that for a second hand Shiloh Sharps
With the outrageous costs of any product and personal debt, people are maxed out. Trudeau is partly to blame along with the consumer. Personal debt is at an all-time high. For every dollar earned, consumers owe $1.82. When I started in the workforce, for every dollar I earned, 25 cents went into savings. The consumer is mostly to blame from living beyond their means. There are to many temptations in todays material world, and consumer spending is out of control.
Shipping costs are ridiculous and a definite deterrent. A deal has to be very favourable to warrant the shipping costs whether they're included, shared or paid by the buyer.
