I found some old bills yesterday. My RPK bought in 1992, cost all of $330. 1200 rounds of steel core 7.62 X 39 that shot terribly, were $117. The lead core were $140. I could shoot a 6 inch group at 200 meters with open sights using the lead core. An Ishpoor sporter FN FAL was $200. It was so cheap then, that is why I have nearly 90 black and green in the vault!

I was lucky to sell my Steyr AUG before they seized them. It was a great shot, out shooting my H-Bar with any ammo. The best shooter out of the box was my G3. It would do 1 inch groups at 100 with ball ammo. Sold that one to an American dealer for good bucks.

Best regards,
Henry;)

AUG rifle in semi automatic configuration is classified as a 12.4 prohib. If you legally owned one, it was not confiscated.

Hey ... everyone legally owned them ... until the law was changed without much notice. (Caveat - I know koldt knows this.)

I had an a shooting buddy who missed the registration deadline for 12.4 but managed to get his 12.5.

Many of the AUGs in circulation were seized by Provincial Firearms people, they came around to gunstores and went through the book (in the Lower Mainland anyway), and took as many as they could as quickly as possible (like they knew something was going to happen). If you were the first owner and were at the same address it's likely you handed over the $2600 rifle and got back a receipt aying it was "handed in for destruction" many of them were not destroyed and I'm aware of a couple that ended up in the collections of certain people who had "connections". Confiscation stinks, and registration will always equal confiscation (maybe just not right now)
