i don't have any pictures, but does anybody have any idea what an older Savage model 24 over under would run?

no rust, good riffling on 22, and a fixed modified choke i beleive.
not sure on the orig date but i would guess early 80's

i've looked at new ones and they can go for over 500, but they really are a totaly diff gun.

any idea would help being i'm the one buying, not selling this gun

Around home the couple that have gone lately went for $350, thou they were 12/and centerfire. I got lucky and got a 22/410 for $110 with a box each of shells. Depends how much 28g shells are in your area?.... and if you can find them.

Lots of demand for that model. The later synthetic ones are too chunky for my tastes. They had a few grades, walnut, hardwood, etc.
In good condition, on CGN you could expect it to go for around $400 +/-$50. However, that will be a 20 gauge and full choke, not 28. 28 gauge was never offered in the 24 savage combination guns.

The 24 had a 24" barrel and came in a field or deluxe model. The deluxe had a fancy stock with checkering on the pistol grip and forearm and a folding rear sight. The C was a 'Camper' model with 20" barrels, birch stock and either a straight grip stock in the earlier version and only took 2.75" shells or in the later version it had a pistol grip stock and could also take the 3" 20ga shells. Both versions originally came with a butt plate that had a sliding cover and extra shells could be carried inside the stock. The LOP on the earlier version of the C was only 13.25". As was mentioned, these are sought after in vg condition and often sell in the $500 range. The C model also originally came with a bag that was used to carry the C when taken down into two parts.

This is about the price I've seen them at (both of them LOL). A friend has a 22/20g. No matter how he adjusts the .22, can't hit anything. He figures the complete front sight is wrong for this rifle.

Test fire it B4 you buy it.
