Prideaux loader for .38 revolvers

How common was the Prideaux speed loader for .38 revolvers used in Second World War, I know they were used in WW1 for .455 revolvers, were they a private purchase or issued
 
Don't think I have ever seen one for .38. Even the 455 are very rare. Have only seen a couple in many years of collecting.

Original Prideaux loaders are quite rare and the .455 was reproduced in Pakistan for a UK company a few years ago.
They were a decent job but as all products make in India or Pakistan there are differences just to make it easier.
They were not made for the 380/200 of WW 2 as the 38 Prideaux loaders were made in 8 shot for the Webley Fosbery.
