Primary Arms GLX 1X Prism Optic

I own both, side by side doesn't even compare & I didn't even adjust the diopter on the GLX yet, I can't speak for others but my eyes can certainly notice the difference.

The chevron & ranging tree is far easier to decipher than the SLX.

That's good news on the chevron, I still hope that they offer this with different reticles down the range but better is better!
I prefer the 3X model due to the larger reticle, my eyes are finally starting to fade a bit as I age so that might be part of the issue that makes the 1X chevron less then ideal.

Does the auto live cap work (fit) on most of their optics that take batteries?
Where did you get the anti reflection cover? Other then the reticle options, the other thing I'd love to see is the option to run flip up lens caps on these micro optics.... the kill flash is a good comprimise. Does the kill flash effect the image quality much?

Yes multi reticle select option like on the LVPO scopes would be sweet , (let their CS know)

Yes, Primary Arms has list of Optics that it works on, I plan on using it for a PA MD25 red dot. You can always call PA CS if your optic is not on the list to confirm.

Marstar Canada is my PA dealer/contact, they are awesome at ordering parts that are not listed on their site & have never said no, unless they can't get it.

The ARD still shows through but not as much as it did on the SLX. It's more of a mirage than a visible structured honeycomb.

With the ARD installed you could probably find flip up scope caps to install like I did on my helmet mounted light.

And now that you have put this thought into my head, I will do the same.

The ARD still shows through but the glass makes the difference in image quality.

Thanks man, that's what I was thinking with the kill flash, probably hollow it out and then figure out how to put a flip up cap on it.... :)

Did you get that from Marstar as well? I will have to contact them about ordering some for my SLX micro's, they are not listed on their website.

I ordered the ARD through Marstar.

You're welcome Can-down

I measured the ARD & the diopter ring at 30 mm, the scope cap I have is slightly larger. Nothing a small strip of hockey tape can't fix around the circumference of the ARD to mount it securely.IMG_20240926_170715424.jpgIMG_20240926_170912106~2.jpgIMG_20240926_170738054~2.jpg

Thanks for confirming how easy it would be for the end user to fix what for some reason PA won't..... :)

Some of the Vortex/Arken style defender caps that flip tight with the body of the optic would be even better but they don't currently make that size as far as I am aware.... flipping your cap down onto the rail would probably work as well for less visual obstruction.

I tried to order a kill flash from another Cdn retailer last year to do exactly what you have done, but that fell through the cracks somehow.

Agreed, the down flip is the way. That was just for the pic.

Marstar has never let me down, & are honest up front if they can't get it. That's why I order with them even if it's not on the website(special order)

I agree with your assesment of Marstar, I never really minded John's crusty ways but the new team is on the ball when it comes to customer service!
Never had any experiences with the past management, all I can comment on is the team at present.

And they all do an outstanding job, from the phones, to emails to orders, to shipping.👍

I owe them a pizza party & beers for Christmas.

Thank you. How’s the eye relief? That was my only real complaint with the Slx, I had to cantilever it way off the back of the receiver to make it work for my eyes. The “near unlimited” eye relief PA is advertising for the GLx is what captured my attention.
I don't have the best vision, comparing my SLX to the GLX @ "arms length" the GLX is without a doubt more clearer, crisper, & the chevron & ranging tree are far more distinguishable & usable.

And as you bring it closer to the eye it just gets better.
