How reliable are the Primary Arms and other optics with the solar panels on them? Worthwhile feature or is it just one more fail point/extra complication?

Looking at both a Glx/Slx MD-21 and a Sig Sauer Romeo5 Gen II right now, and its a tough call

Had to Google this after reading your post, thought it might be a belated April 1st attempt…
Well isn’t that something new.
Thoughts, with never seeing them;
- I could only find an Sig 4 in solar which is discontinued, if they make it in a 5 they hide it well which would seem like odd marketing.
- The PA uses a CR2032 battery which I didn’t think are rechargeable so must have some interesting circuitry to switch between power sources (?).
- I take out batteries as I’m paranoid on getting a green leaker so new ones are regularly reinstalled and if they came with built in batteries I’d avoid them due to the designed in obsolescence and not much light in a gun safe to keep it charged so I’m not sure how usable this technology would be (at least for me).
