Any news or ideas when LR primers will become available? Just got my reloading gear and want to try it. I know there are no silly questions but can small rifle primers be used for 308win. Mostly federal if that makes a difference

Only if you have small primer 308 brass. Prophet river have some large rifle primers in today at a decent price an I have seen other stores bringing them in so it should be slowly trickling in now.

Cheers,
B

200k in a few hours is pretty good. Must be a lot of people monitoring the sites. 1 brick is 1k which looks like about $300 private? What were they going for?

I hope to hell that they didn't sell 5 to 10 thousand to one individual......that would burn my britches!

Five thousand is probably just one carton, I know that's how Winchester and CCI package them. So yes, I imagine most of the customers took at least that many. I know that if I was paying for dangerous goods shipping, I wouldn't consider any quantity less than 5K.

$110 per thousand.

From what I see on their site, the primers they have left are Campro, which are OK if you don't have anything else.

Good on Prophet for making them available.

I shoot easy 5000 rounds a year of LR. If I put my hand on the primer brand I seek, will buy 10k for sure.
Purchased 12000 fiocchi small pistol (a case)when the came avail at CRAFM last winter.

Dealers are in business to sell…make money. I have no problem with people who buy for their use..but a problem with the ass####s who buy to resell at outrageous price on EE and other sites…yes.
Unfortunately nobody found a way to stop that practice yet.

Have to be fast i guess. Borrowed a hundred magnum lr primers. Anyone load 308 w magnum primers

When I got into reloading a couple years ago I was given 800 LR magnum primers. I've used them in 303, 7.5 Swiss, and 8mm Mauser without any noticeable differences when shooting

So more people can have a piece of the pie...........it's a moral thing.

If you say so.

Sadly this sort of thing happens every single time there is a shortage. You would think that people would remember????

I used to feel the same way you do but decided it was a Truddite attitude because some people just refuse to prepare for the future and expect "someone else" to do the heavy lifting for them. Sometime's it's called the "Grasshopper Syndrome"

"Truddite" is a WOKE LUDDITE.

My experience with magnum primers has been similar, except when it gets really cold, then the magnum primers keep things much more consistent as to when the firearm was sighted in.

I use magnum primers for everything I reload, including black powder cartridges.
