I bought some .308 once fired Hornady brass last year from a fellow NUT and it seems like military brass. I wasn't warned about the crimp removal or chamfer needed to make it usable. Anyone else encounter this? could be my first and last Hornady brass!!!

This has been by far the best option for preparing crimped brass. Also good for quickly depriming and sizing bullets. Can reload like a single stage too if you want an extra. $110 for the Deluxe kit at Higginsons Powders

As someone else said, for 100 pieces just cut the primer out with a chamfering tool with a shallow pitch. It’s what I did for the few pieces of Hornady once fired I had. Quick and easy.

Thanks Supernova. You figure the Lyman is the best bang for the buck?

Though not as cheap as a chamferring tool or drill bit they do correct undersized pockets and can be had for under 20 bucks. Undersized pockets are less common on commercial brass but I have run into them with WCC 5.56 brass. QC was terrible as far as dimensions go with those.

Wilson makes reamers for taking out the crimp. Could probably be attached to a cordless drill if you’re careful.
