I remember paying like $19 for a brick of primers just like last year, now I checked a few stores and I get $35-42! Even le baron which used to be the ceapest is in that proce range! :S WTH happened? :(

The dollar took a poop.

As an aside, who buys primers by the 100? I was in Whitehorse last week and could only get 800 CCI 250s. What's the big idea buying less than a case? Absolutely baffles me, but then again, I like to have a few thousand primers, just to be safe.

gee where ahve you been in the last few months?:p....prices on ammo and componants have been going thorugh the roof!....

Seriously, eh? I guess it's hunters who only load a couple dozen rounds a year, but still...

I have bought less than a box. How am I supposed to work up accurate loads? I am not going to buy 1000 of Federal just to find out CCI works better.

Yeah, but you might be happy to have 900 Federals just kicking around sometimes in the future. Plus, the Federals might work better in the next cartridge you load.

They don't go bad sitting on the shelf.

I see your point, luckily I didn't though. I just did a major cull of guns and ammo. The only thing left to reload is my 10mm. I am in the process of hoarding for it!

The Americans are clearing the shelves of ammo and components. Worried about Obama.

I just bought 4 cases of primers, and intend to buy more. It is the component most likely to be unobtainable. I am paying about $31/1000 and delighted to do so.

I was at the Buffalo Gun Center last week, and they had lots, including Federal stuff. Of course, Joe Citizen Canuck can't legally bring them out of the U.S. right now.

Try Epps in Orillia, fair prices on primers

I just saw this post and almost pissed my pants. EPPS is a RIP-OFF when it comes to Primers.

I picked up some and a few other items..I get home and it was $32.90 for 1000 primers!!!! The same primers I get at LeBaron for $25. LeBaron gives you a discount when you buy the whole box of 1000.
My fault for not paying attention

Better check the price at Lebarons bud. They've gone up since you last bought there.

I just bought a box of Federal small pistol for $34, and enjoyed it. Brass, bullets, and powder just aren't the same without them.

No, they're not. I wonder how long it'll be before we're mining bat poop out of caves for the potassium nitrate to make our own black powder to use in our flintlocks ???

The topic has been touched upon before, but, I wonder what it would take to get a small operation up and running that makes primers and powder. The paperwork, and legal garbage would be a nightmare.......we won't even mention insurance.

bah, atleast you can buy them in lots of 1000, one local gun store doesn't have any primers left and the other is limiting customers to 300 so everyone can store a few away.

Since IMR powders are made in Canada, it shouldn't be impossible for someone to package it under a new label.
