primer question

my reloading book says that for a 240wby I should use a cci 250 or large magnum primer. does it really make that much difference from a br-2 (which i have lots of)????

also has anyone tested the difference between br-2's and federal 215m???

Federal 215 Magnum is pretty hot compared to our South African pmp LR magnum primer. I drop all my 30-06 loads by .5 of a grain. Youre gonna have to do some tests to see whether you can work up some accurate loads with the BR2 primers. You dont want unburnt powder leaving the case. If that doesn't happen there is no reason why you have to use magnum primers.

Here in South Africa the supply is so erratic that I have to buy whatever I can get my hands on.
