trying to load 45 ACP , Hornady 7th edition says win. WLP primer , 200 thous. , primer size in blazer brass 175 thous. same size as small pistol. I have Win. 231 and HS-6 powder. HS-6 at 8.0 gr. do I use a small pistol mag. primer? CCI 550 . Or just a regular small pistol primer? Thanks

A small pistol primer (standard not magnum) will work fine with Win 231 or HS-6 in 45 ACP. These powders are easy to ignite.
Magnum primers are for powders that require then. If you do want to use magnum primers you will increase the pressures somewhat over small pistol standard primers.

I have not used HS6 in 45ACP. But I have used it in 38Spl. in an accurate revolver. I noticed better accuracy with a magnum primer. Try both and see if there is a difference, if accuracy is an issue and you can measure it.
