So I've been away from reloading for awhile and now want to reload some rounds for a 44 Mag rifle. My Speer manual only lists CCI 350 primers for rifle, and my Nosler manual only lists Win WLP primers for pistol. Been looking on the net for some sort of compilation page that would list which brand primers to use for any particular caliber, and of course can't seem to find one. ...Is there any data out there that could let me know which primers for which calibers??

"...which brand primers..." Hi. It doesn't make enough difference to matter. The brand certainly doesn't matter. Just the size.
"...Speer manual only lists..." Speer and CCI were or are part of the same company. Bullet makers manuals only give data for their products.
If you have both a handgun and a rifle, like you should. snicker. Don't mix .44 Mag rifle data with handgun data. The handgun data won't bother the rifle, but the rifle data might bother a revolver.

I'm looking more for which primer types (eg: WLP, CCI 350) are to be used for which rifles - but specifically at the moment for 44 Mag rifle. Not too concerned with brands.

Magnum large pistol primers, that is a basic thing that you should know before you reload. it will be covered in any reloading manual.

you can use large primers as well if they are light loads.

Well, here we go again.
In your 44 magnum use any primer that fits.
I usually use large pistol, have tried large pistol magnum, but can see no difference between the two, with any load.
The maximum loads for a revolver are the same as the maximum load for a 44 mag rifle.
The confusion comes because some loading books seperate the two, and give away more velocity for the rifle, which of course is correct.
But it is the same maximum charge of powder, for either revolver or rifle.

Any large pistol primer will work; buy whichever brand is least expensive in your area. Just because the data in the manual uses a given primer doesn't mean you have to use that specific primer to work up your loads. Large rifle primers cannot be used in .44 Magnum brass, as the primer pocket isn't deep enough.

As far as magnum primers go, I have shot lots of .44 Magnum with H110/W296 and L'il Gun and standard primers without any problems. You can try them for yourself to see if you find any difference, but I am convinced they are not necessary.

I load 44 both my rifle and pistol I use large pistol primers in my pistol and large pistol primers magnum in my rifle only because of loading data I got.I really think both will work either way

The advice given by tjsudbury is the most accurate, but more info needs to be iven.

1) Rifle and revolver use the same ammo, BUT...I have found my Marlin 1894 does not feed the 300gr bullets well. Up to the 250gr Partition Gold works well. If you intend using 300gr (for eg. Speer Gold dot) for rifle you must use the top crimp groove, i.e. seat the bullet deeper and then REDUCE the load accordingly. For lever rifles with a tube mag you also need to crimp the bullets very firmly to prevent them being pushed into the case by spring pressure.

2) Powder and primers: Speer strongly advises against using 2400 with magnum primers. Yes some people do it and some people get themselves killed. Mag primers may cause a pressure spike Speer #14 Manual). With other magnum powders such as H110 / Win 296 or Alliant PP 300 - MP, use only magnum primers.

If people tell you otherwise, they either do not know or do not care. You now have the correct info.
