Primers for 9mm reloads

So I have been reloading .40 and .223 for some time now. I am at a point now where I have enough 9mm brass to reloading that caliber.

The problem I have is the shortage of available primers. I have some 5 1/2 remington small pistol primers that I was using for .40 but it seems that the 1 1/2 primers are the norm for 9mm. If I load light with titegroup am I still asking for trouble using a 5 1/2 primer?
 
The Remington 5 1/2 is a magnum small pistol primer. A little hotter than a standard pistol primer.

Titegroup is a very good powder for 9mm & if you use the magnum small pistol primers I would suggest reducing the powder charge quoted in the reloading manual by 10%.
9mm is a small case and is very prone to large pressure jumps when components are changed.
 
There is no problem using the primers you have, but you just need to work up a load using them. As long as you don't simply switch primer types, you're good to go.
