Hi All,
Well, it's time to start reloading.
I would like to ask all of you where the best spot to buy primers, powder and bullets is?
I will be loading 9mm and .45 to start.
Haven't decided on a powder yet. I also plan on using TMJ Projectiles.
What is an average price for 1LB of powder, average price for 1000 small pistol primers, average price for run of the mill TMJ Projectiles? 124gr for 9mm, 230gr for .45

Thanks for any info!

Time to click on the sponsor's links and look at their offerings and prices. You didn't mention whether you had the equipment yet, so I'm assuming you do. :)

Prices? Powder is typically $35-50 per pound, primers are $40-50 per 1000, bullets are where the price varies a lot between cheap TMJ at $100 per 1000 to good quality hollow points at $40 per 100.

Which powder to get? The ones for which you find load data in the manuals you have or the websites for the bullets you bought.

Check out Canada ammo's Canada day sale. Hey have powder on sale and the cheapest primers in Canada. Also have projectiles. Buy $200 before Tax and get free shipping.

Budget Shooter Supply is worth looking at. Good prices and great service.

If you included your location on your profile, we could give you better advice. Shipping is a big issue.

Buy your primers by the box of 1000.

A good powder for 9mm and 45ACp is 231. Titegroup is also good.

Load 10 of each Min to max in 0.3gr increments to see what works best.

initial start ups take a bit, but i bet you've figured that out.
I am running a SQ deal B from Dillon reloading 9mm and i use Hodgdon CFE and it costs about $29 to press 1K or $32/lbs. and then i have an eighth of a can left. $50 for primers. and Canpro bullets are about $110 for a thousand.
I also need to get another bottle of brass cleaner for my dry tumbler. the one that comes with a pale and spin cage are great.
check your brass and know who the head stamp is. I have about 100 rounds or what i believe to be military issue, (head stamp WCC 09,) that doesn't seat regular small pistol primers, instead is wrecks them as its to tight.
Oh and get a scale that is sound you should check, check and re check your thrower.
Last thing i want is a "go/no-go" gauge so i don't have to use my barrel.

if you're trying to price powder out the Hodgdon website is handy

handy tool for your reading.

Good luck, stay safe, no distractions and Range reports!

Thanks a lot for the info. I'm picking up a 550B. Loading 9mm and .45 to start . I've picked up a manual, tumbler and media separator, digital scale, Bullet puller. Still need some calipers. Glad to get info on the best powders etc. That'll be a learning curve for me.

Budget Shooter, Fast Toys, Canada Ammo, Kate at Ammosupply, all good. SRFC and X-Reload as well, there are others.

Even local larger stores have this stuff, such as Cabelas, Wholesale etc.

Canada Ammo is out of Dominion pistol primers, but the small rifle primers are an acceptable alternative. Large rifle primers are too tall to seat flush in pistol cases.

I use Cam-Pro projectiles, as they are good quality and reasonably priced compared to alternatives.
