I recently started loading for my HS50, and I'm having a little trouble priming the brass. I've got a brand new RCBS 50 kit, and some once fired IVI brass. I have crushed a couple primers already, and it seems to take a hell of a lot of pressure to seat them. Are the pockets crimped in IVI brass? Is there a technique to getting proper feel when seating? It's hard to tell if they are going in properly. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. i figured that was likely the problem. Now, what is the best way of removing the crimp?

I just use a hand chamfering tool.....has always worked well....

Also, I'd really reccomend a primer pocket uniforming tool.....don't know about IVI for sure, but LC and some other brass I've used can have quite a bit of inconsistancy in the pocket depth...

IMO
