Hey fellow shooters, got a few questions for everyone.

What's the process I need to undergo to transfer a restricted from myself to another person. This is a private sale to a friend. Both of us are in BC.

What sort of info do I need to do this? (RPAL #, DOB, Address, ect ect?)
Do I have to call the CFO and get the transfer started and then have the buyer call and finish it?

I looked on the RCMP.GC.CA website and it didn't have a number to call for restricted private sales, only for business and various other?
Is this the number I need to call?
RCMP 5492 / CAFC 681

Thanks a lot,

Its the same number.

You need his PAL number, DOB and address.

Just call them and once you start it he finishes. Or if your together call and they can do both sides at the same time.

The last two restricted transfers I did (private to private) I called the CFC, gave them the buyer's name, RPAL#, address and phone#. In both cases, the CFC did not ask nor did I know the buyer's DOB. They did ask for the buyer's phone# and did I intend to ship the restricted firearm.

The buyer phones the CFC to complete the transfer. Now we both wait until the CFO(s) approves the transfer.
