Pro hunter encore barrel

They are hard to find, don’t very often come up for sale unless it’s the whole package. I know of a SS 243 for sale in Ft Francis but that’s the only one I know of or have seen. Don’t think I’ve seen any at the last several gun shows either.

I recently got one off of ####### so you should keep an eye out over there as well. I also am considering an import from Ron above. He is great to deal with. What calibers are you looking for?

I see them all the time on the ee in the parts page….. what calibre are you looking for? I sold all of mine except for the 30-06, I had 5 or 6 before.

I scored a full rifle in .280 Rem with 28" stainless fluted outta my local gunshop a few years back for the cost of the Leupold VX3 that was on it. It came with a right hand camo synthetic thumbhole stock set. I replaced it with a standard black synthetic stock set picked up off the EE here & sold the camo one.

Then at our annual local 2 day gunshow a couple years back, at setup, I noticed a local dealer that was closing out had some factory used/exc 28" stainless fluted barrels on his table in .22-250; .270 & .30-06. Prices weren't marked yet, so I enquired, he said how about $50 each? Yeah, no kidding I bought all three!!

Also, got new factory Weaver type scope rail mounts for each barrel still in the packages for a further $5 each, too.

Later sold the .22-250 on here for the typical EE asking price plus shipping. Have thus far kept the .270 & .30-06 barrels. But sorry no, not for sale.

The problem I see with Encores is I know it would end up being like my Contenders. Multiple receivers, multiple barrels and multiple scopes. And a bunch more accessories.
Maybe some day I’ll decide to start down the Encore road but I haven’t run out of new calibers to try out in the Contenders yet. After market barrels and different calibers are available from SSK,MGM and Bellum and a couple smaller outfits. Those three companies also made barrels for the Encore in a multude of calibers. And hopefully the new owners of Thompson Center will be up and supplying us with new offerings. I don’t expect anything to happen for at least two or three years. US market will be filled first then Canadian.
