Im looking into purchasing a stainless kimber 1911 in 9mm but im having an issue deciding which model. I am looking into purchasing either the stainless target ii model or the gold match ii stainless model.

They are both essentally the same except for an oversized hand fit slide and a slight better finish. The price difference between the two is roughly 500 dollars (1.5x of the stainless target model). Im having a little problem justifying the cost.

Is there anything ive underlooked? What would you do in this situation?

Neither SIG nor STI makes a stainless 1911 in 9mm. Reading comprehension lacking.

Springfield does though, in their Loaded series:

I don't know how it stacks up or even who carries them, but I'd say save the $500 and get the Stainless II.

I see that now. I have been on the STI site lately looking at their 2011 line and incorrectly assumed that they also produced some 1911's in stainless.

That Springfield looks off to me personally IMO. Why do people have an ambi-safety? I'm not kidding, maybe it's because I don't have one, but it looks redundant and a unnecessary variable added to taking the shot.

For me the mix of affordability and factory options got me to a Stainless 2. 1100 rounds in, I could not be happier for my 1200.00.

Pure quality shooting experience. A pleasure every time.

Xopher... the answer really depends on what kind of shooting you plan to do with this new 1911; how often, at what distances, how many rounds/week or month, action shooting games or training, static target shooting, bulls-eye shooting, etc...
