Hey all, I have a problem I'm looking for assistance with.
I have an 870 Express magnum. I put on a cheapish ATI buttstock with pistol grip and also fore grip.. I had to use a file and file the fore grip down a bit to fit but in the end it worked fine.
While I was away my wife decided to surprise me and send me a picture of my 870 in a bunch of pieces. . "I think I broke your gun" was the subject of the email.
Luckily the next email she sent me was a picture of my 870 looking bad ass with an ATI top folding stock with pistol grip and pistol grip foreend)
It was fun to pay around with (the gun) but I didn't like the top folding stock for actual shooting. Stock was too long and always loosening up. Also police give me a hard time saying it's illegal to modify a gun like that and I could be charged but lucky for me I'm polie and respectable so they won't etc..
So I put the other ATI stock back on.
Took me a while to get it back together but I finally got it. Here's my problem. The slide is really stuff. REALLY stiff. When I try and cycle the action I need to force it. I can still do it but I can tell it's tight and clearly not as smooth as before. I took it apart and put it back together but the problem persists.
What would cause the 870 action to stick like that? Why would the stock be fine previously then when I reinstall it (after the folding stock deal) it become stiff?
Any advice?
Cheers
