Problem removing gas tube from FSB

I should be getting my free float rail in any day now and I couldnt wait, so I started to prep my rifle for the installation. I took the FSB off my rifle, I took out the gas tube pin but I cant remove the gas tube from the FSB. Its stuck. Oh, I want to take it out because I plan to cut down my FSB to make a low profile gas block out of it. Any ideas how to pull it out?

Give it a twist to loosen it up.

Had to google to find out what kroil means... its some sort of penetrating oil from what I read. I never heard of it. I tried using WD-40, soaked all the holes and edges with it. Waited a little, tried to pull on it again, no luck.

Is there any safe way to grip the gas tube? will it crush easily?

I've used a light grip with a pair of pliers a couple inches back from the gas block. No problems encountered.

wrap it with a cloth, applying very minimal pressure so you dont crush it, twist it back and forth with some pliers until it breaks free.

Gas tube are usually stainless steel these days, so they're solid enough, but don't squeeze it too much just the same.

Success! Pair of vice grips, gently tightened till I was able to pull it out while twisting it.
