Problem: Replaced M14 butt plate with Rubber Pad.Bolt now too short

Not too sure of what you mean. I've fitted lots of rubber butt pads to M14s. On most butt pads there is a protrusion on the inside of the pad for the upper screw hole that must be cut off in order for the pad to line up and fit snug. (no misalingment) With no spaces or longer screws required for the bottom screw. Let me know if you want pics and I'll work up a set and post 'em.

If this is not the case just take the rear sling swivel to a Canadian Tire to check for your length and proper thread size.

it's a 12 nf 28- not a common- the common is 12 nf24- you might want to replace it with a common 12 nf24 nut and bolt, and put in a common sling swivel seperately- that's what i did
