Problem with a Savage .17

I bought a Savage .17 this spring and have put about 200 rounds through it. When I was shooting it yesterday it failed to eject the spent shell three times. At first I thought the magazine might be hitting the bottom of the shell because it was the last shell in the magazine, but the last time it happened there were still two shells in the magazine. I was able to get the spent shells out but I can't figure out why it's not ejecting. Any suggestions?

Hmm... curious to see what people say. I have had that issue too but only twice.

I had it happen when my gun is dirty... a cleaning spiffed it right up...

Thanks for the input. I'll give 'er a good cleaning tonight and try to give the gophers hell again tomorrow.
