Greetings, I am trying to get info about a problem I have with my brand new Strike One pistol.
- I got it brand new, dismantled it, cleaned it and reassembled it.
- Fired about 500 rounds during 3 different range visits, over about 1 month.
- Tried to dismantle it, could not! It will cycle, fire, do everything ok but will NOT dismantle.

Details:
- I check it's safe, take mag out, visually clear chamber
- like it says in the manual, I old the slide and push on the take down pin
- I pull the take down pin out as far as it will go
- then the manual says I should be able to push the slide forward and off the lower but it will not budge! I had to use a rubber mallet to get it to move at all. Taping it back I was able to "unfreeze" it and push the pin back in.
- I tried 3 times until I got fed up and used the rubber mallet to push it forward and eventually it did come off the lower.
- I eventually pulled the take down pin completly off the lower and I can see that the locking block seems to obstruct the take down pin hole a bit. I wonder if that is normal...

I do NOT like to hammer the slide off my pistol and do not expect this to be normal. Any one else has had issues with the Strike One? Is my procedure not right? Is this a known problem I should worry about?

Besides that I LOVE the pistol, best grip of all my pistols, trigger is a bit weird at first but does an incredible job after getting use to it, looks great (I have the green lower). I would hate to have problems with it...

Thanks, Nic in Montréal

Ok got it (with the help of the dealer Interammo, great service!), it was my fault.

The locking block moves down as the slide recoils. This is caused by the weird shaped hole in the block. The take down pins goes into that hole. So when dismantling the pistol, do NOT move the slide backwards at all. This will cause the locking block to move down and block the slide from moving. Once the locking block is down, and the pin not in it, it is difficult to put it back in the up position to recover from this.

So hold the slide in place, push out the pin and push forward. Works every time.

Thanks.
