Own a fairly new GSG Rimfire with 5 mags which hold 10 rounds. 1st round fires but 2nd one fails to feed. Doesn't matter which mag I use, they all fail after 1st shot. Next 8 feed properly. I can't figure it out. 2 of the mags are brand new.

Since all mags react the same, number each mag, pick one mag to test modifications, lightly sand the undersides of the feed lips, maybe even trim a coil off the mag spring and try it. Make sure your grip doesn't interfere with the slide.

I had feed failures on the second round when using Winchester 333 bulk pack ammo (particularly with one of the mags), but mine loves Remington Thunderbolts which many people say are junk. CCI are often praised, I guess they have a bit more power. I haven't fired mine in almost a year, my bad!

Scan 1911Forum dot com under "Other 1911's", there's info/discussion there on this pistol. Many say it works better after a lot of shooting.

Hey
two years ago the bulk white boxes of winchester didn't work in my gsg at all. watched a bunch of vids on this and found each gun is different . I recently purchased winchester white boxes of bulk and my 10/22 runs fine and gsg so must be hit or miss
try different ammo as stated above

If you're using HP pick up some round nose as they feed better. (I've never had issue in my 1911 but have in my 10/22.) Try getting 1250fps or better HV packs. Standard or anything less than about 850fps aren't enough to properly cycle the slide. Make sure nothing touches the slide when firing. (Buddy had a problem keeping his thumb out of the way.) Make sure the extractor/ejector and channel are well cleaned as wells as the chamber.

Reach out to BLS, Blue Line Solutions, if you still have issues as they cover warranty issues for GSG in Canada.

I'm using Federal target grade 325 pack, 1200 fps. Every one works fine, except the failure to feed after the first shot. I'll pick up a box of Thunderbolt's and try them. If it works I'll put a Thunderbolt cartridge in last so it is first to fire until I use up all the federals I have. I did pick up a case of Federal's on sale. ( 3250 ) rounds.

Maybe also try just loading 9 rounds until it breaks in a bit, could be just the spring??

Mine shoots anything and everything from subs to mini mags, I also run mine well lubed.

Don’t bother with the out of the box GSG 1911. Invest about $100 in the ZRTS Ultimate Performance Package. It makes the GSG 1911 the best shooter ever. I bought the Package together with my GSG and installed it immediately, removing most of the original internals like for instance a plastic (!) guide rod. The package is mostly stainless steel parts and one aluminum part. Now, my GSG eats any ammo I feed her without even a slightest hiccup. On top of it, the slide alignment cone (SAC) in the Package improves accuracy to the extent it’s nearly on par with a Kimber Target .22. With the Package that idiotic barrel screw can be thrown into garbage. It’s redundant.
Unfortunately, at the moment the ZRTS Package is out of stock at Blue Line Solutions. I guess, they will replenish the stock soon.

I will second that.

+1. I also added a small rubber flat style o-ring at the back of the new spring. The new spring is much softer and I didn't want to beat the hell out of the slide and/or frame. seems to work. less metallic noise when firing, less sharp recoil.

Feeds and fires everything still.

I agree with the zrts package. I had my gsg and shot it without it untill someone on this site told me to get the zrts kit from blue line. so glad I did. the kit makes it easier to take apart aswell . getting rid of that dumb srew. also watched a couple of vids on removing the mag safety so no mag needed to clear the gun . it runs just like my 45acp without the price tag of ammo ( and the hitting power )
so far all my bulk cheap 22lr runs fine
