It comes down to it being a plastic mag, it'll work for a while, but the stresses of shooting will catch up with it, mine eventually broke oFf right at the hook where it latches into the gun. Oh well
im betting the lifetime guarantee only applies to the person who purchased it originally. I bought a used mag off the EE and the left top lip had a small piece missing.I think this is due to the bolt having those ears on it to lock the mag in place when its loading a round and the plastic mag maybe sittin just low enough for it to hit.
If you do the mod to load mags with the bolt closed i dont think you'll have this problem anymore.
I was interested in Tapco mags for my sks until I read that they were plastic. Even if they're warrantied, it's a hassle to keep sending them back for replacement.
SKS is fast to load with stripper clips, so I'll keep mine the way it is.
I have been using Tapco 5/20 mags on and off with never a problem. You will get feed lip cracking over time if you charge the magazines with stripper clips without first modding the mag. Tapco mags for the SKS stand up way better than the metal mags on the market. Every metal mag I tried after a short time you would get broken spot welds, bent feed lips ect ect.
